Meet the Brewers!

Patrick Bohannan (Master Brewer)
Patrick is the co-owner and head brewer at Black Howler Beer Co. He has lived in NWA for most of his life, including college at the University of Arkansas and serving 6 years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman with his unit out of Little Rock. He has been a homebrewer for over 12 years, winning several awards and even serving as the president of local homebrew club FLOPS (Fayetteville Lovers of Pure Suds) in 2023. Over the last 5 years as he and Jon worked to create this brewery, he has been working hard to develop the recipes you will taste in the Black Howler Beer Co taproom. He would like to thank his family, friends, and all the other local brewers, both homebrewers and the pros, who have helped to make this dream a reality.
Jonathan Kuenzel (Master Plumber)
Jonathan’s business card appropriately lists him as “The Doer Of Awesome”. He maintains all mechanical systems, assists with beer brewing, and runs the taproom. He is a master plumber with over 12 years experience. On top of co owning Black Howler, he also owns Special K Plumbing, a business he started in 2020 so he could plumb the Black Howler under his own license. He is currently a Sergeant in the Arkansas Army National Guard with plans to become a Warrant Officer and attain a civil engineering license. He married his wife, Jess, in 2014 and has somehow roped her into helping out with the brewery even though she hates beer. Together Jonathan and Jess created a super cool little boy named Charlie who is like Jonathan in just about every way. In his free time you can find him spending time with Jess and Charlie, flying on his flight sim, or shooting in rifle/pistol competitions.
